What We Believe

What We Believe

The Scriptures - We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, God- breathed and preserved and, therefore, are the sole and final authority for faith and practice. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the complete and divine revelation of God to man. We believe that God has perfectly preserved His Word to the English speaking people in the King James (1611 a.v.) version of the Blble. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21).

The Lord Jesus Christ - We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; that He is the very God by whom and for whom all things were created. We believe in His virgin birth; that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and is God manifest in the flesh. (John 1:1-3; Hebrews 1:8; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:16; Luke 1:31).

The Triune God - We believe in one God eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that these Persons have the same nature, attributes and perfections. (Jude 20, 21; Matthew 3:16,17; II Corinthians 13:14).

The Holy Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, that He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and, that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling, and sealing them unto the day of redemption. (John 16:8-11; II Corinthians 3:6; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13,14).

The Resurrection of Christ - We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and in His presence at the right hand of God as our Priest and Advocate. (Matthew 28:1-10; I Corinthians 15:20; I John 2:1; Hebrews 7:25).

Sin Nature - We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and that man is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. We believe in the necessity of regeneration through the Holy Spirit of God and faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:22,23; 5:12; Genesis 1:26,27; Ephesians 2:1-3,12; John 1:12; 3:3-7).

Salvation - We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed for the forgiveness
